**Galatoire’s
One of the three oldest restaurants in New Orleans. Sit downstairs and don’t look at a menu for very long or ideally, not at all - otherwise they will know you are not local. Get the trio shrimp remoulade, crabmeat ravigote and crawfish, followed by the oysters en brochette and fresh fish of the day or soft shell crabs. The dessert is not the best except for the bread pudding and crème caramel. Try a milk punch for the hell for it. It is best to go for lunch then take a nap after to rest up for the night. That’s what a New Orleanian does!

Napoleon House
Napoleon House was once the home of former mayor Nicholas Girod. He offered his residence to Napoleon in 1821 as a refuge during his exile, and although he never made it, the name stuck. At Napoleon house, the muffellata (a quintessential New Orleans sandwich) is the best you can taste in the city. The gumbo is also delicious and you can order a Pimm’s cup there. Ideal for lunch.
