Palm Beach Style

Palm Beach has no shortage of chic little boutiques, but one of the newest places to max out your credit card in the town is Isabel. Opened last autumn by former Calvin Klein managing director Susan Palladino, Isabel stocks Tracy Reese (Susan was one of her first clients), Rebecca Taylor, and Saja as well as newer designers like AKA New York (the designers are three former ELLE magazine fashion and accessories editors); T Luxury; and Cass Guy. Palladino has filled her boutique with easy, wearable clothes and is a fan of body-skimming dresses and floaty skirts by new labels like Mint; Mimo; Woo; Harkham; Twinkle; The West Village; Sabina; and Lotty B. Isabel is decorated with a mix of French and antique furnishings, and the store also carries handbags, hand-stitched beaded sandals, and exquisite jewellery from Jack Vartanian, who has exhibited at the Louvre. Other fabulous touches include an on-staff stylist and treats like iced tea and soft drinks during the hot Florida summers, apple cider in the fall and hot chocolate in the winter, as well as homemade chocolate chip cookies, pistachio nuts, and pretzels. Palladino is also planning monthly trunk shows and special events including evening cocktail parties in the
courtyard. Isabel, #32 Via Mizner,

Ritz-Carlton Palm Beach Gets a Makeover

Submitted by Christina Valhouli on Thu, 2007-01-25 10:07.

A few years ago I had the pleasure of staying at the Ritz-Carlton Palm Beach. The hotel was all about genteel elegance, with its Oriental rugs, oil paintings and chandeliers in the lobby- and one of my best memories of the stay was a superb fireside dinner in its restaurant. But the hotel has been busy behind the scenes making the experience even better, and a newly renovated Ritz-Carlton Palm Beach will re-open on March 5, 2007 following a $60 million makeover and the overall look will be lighter, fresher and more modern.
