It’s not too late to still book a ski holiday. And if you want to make sure your digs are free of the typical ski chalet decor clichés, like an exuberant use of pine cladding and curtains embroidered with little skiers, considered CK Verbier. This luxury chalet company has just added a new home to their portfolio, Bella Coola, which sleeps up to 11 people. The exterior is classic but inside the decor takes a cue from the last days of the Raj and it has a colonial look and very romantic feel. The four bedrooms have four poster beds and the huge living area has a raised fireplace with built-in seating. Of course Bella Coola comes with its own chef, 24 hour chauffeur and chalet host.
This winter, the hottest place to be on the
slopes will be the new Coco Club in Verbier. The club, which is slated to
open 14 December, will be located in Place Centrale and the décor
is anything but alpine cute. Coco Club is decorated with hand
painted wallpaper, white fur curtains, leather booths, crushed
velvet stools, and gold leaf plaster walls. Big spenders can
order a Chalet Coco Champagne Cocktail, which serves six and
costs 1,250CHF (around £500). DJ Crazy P will kick off the ski
season for 2008 and the O'Neil Extreme, XSpeed Skiing
Championship, and Gumball Rally Finale will all host events here.
Or mark your calendar for 22 December when London favourite Boujis will host
their winter party at the club. A handful of lucky people will be
inivted to become a VIP member with access to a concierge
services. Membership is limited to 50 pepple and benefits include
a personal reservation hotline from London, VIP access via a secret
lift, and chauffeured transfers from Coco Club to chalets
between 2am and 4am and more. For more information, call +41 (0) 27 771
